Spring Break Adventures: Marrakech, Morocco

Hey everyone,

To continue with the Spring Break theme I thought I'd let you guys know a little about my last stop on my 9 day Spring Break: Marrakech, Morocco. Coming into Study Abroad I never thought that I'd be going to Africa but it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. My friends and I stayed at a Riad which means Guest House in Arabic. The accommodations were great and we were served a full Moroccan breakfast each morning. Marrakech has some of the best tasting Orange Juice I've ever tasted!

The Open Market in Djeema El Fna Square was like Canal Street x 1000. It was filled with persistent sales people, exotic handi-crafts, and snake charmers. After some haggling genius, I left with a Moroccan shirt, a carved candle, and a knock-off Long Champs bag: success! Morocco also inspired us to let out our wild sides. We decided to go on a desert ATV excursion our second day in Marrakech. The interesting thing is that the agencies take on a lot of liability in Morocco and did not require that we have any training or for us to wear sneakers for that matter. Regardless, the scenes on the trip were beautiful. Minor aside: I lost control of my ATV and fell off, but all is well in the end.

Spring Break part 2: Italy!

Hello Ladies!

I hope you are all having a wonderful semester! My experience in Prague has been phenomenal, I hope you all have the chance to study abroad!

So Spring Break ... I started in Barcelona, spent a couple of days in Madrid, then was off to Italy!

Kathleen and I spent one night in Florence, joining Allie Sorrentino and Ali Whelan for a delicious dinner, pausing freuqently throughout the night for "uswib pictures" : )
The next morning, we woke up early and stopped in Pisa for a couple of hours on our way to Rome. (How could we leave Italy without seeing the leaning tower?!)
Finally, in Rome we did our best to see EVERYTHING in the two days we had there... It was quite the undertaking but we were pretty successful! Below we are standing on the Spanish Steps!
